Just Keep On Moving

For any mom I think sleep somehow always manages to elude them and they never seem to get as much as they need.  Even as a child I’ve been a tired person.  I’ve been tested for mononucleosis and chronic fatigue syndrome but an official diagnosis has never stuck.  I just feel tired and like to sleep.

Two kids under the age of 4.  A husband that works long hours.  This adds up to one tired mom staying busy and moving nonstop all day, every day.

My daughters both rely on me, so it’s imperative I make sure I do what I can to find the energy to start each day and refuel as needed throughout as needed.

Before giving birth to my second daughter, my tool to refueling each day was a steady stream of caffeine.  Now that I’m nursing I try to limit my caffeine intake to a cup in the morning and an occasional cup as an afternoon pick me up.

Another way I make sure to avoid an afternoon slump is to keep moving.  Whether I’m running errands, exercising, or chasing my girls around the house constant motion doesn’t allow me to dwell on my exhaustion.

Finally, knowing that my daughter’s will only be little for such a short time is enough to ensure I stay awake and moving and enjoy every minute I can!

How do you refuel throughout the day?

Each beverage is a sparkling, delicious boost of natural energy from Green Coffee Extract you can enjoy anytime. With real fruit juice, B vitamins, ginseng, antioxidants from vitamin C and only 60 calories per can, it’s a pick-me-up you can feel good about.

  1. Isn’t Starbucks how any of us stay awake in the day? :) When I’ve had my max for the day sometimes I drink kombucha tea. It gives me a little healthy pep! I always force myself to drink water before having more than a cup or two of coffee or tea.

  2. I am always really tired, too. Even when I was younger. I’ve always gone to bed by 9 pm and it kills me when I have to “stay up late” lol. Caffeine has absolutely no effect on me, so I could down a couple of espressos and take a nap. I find ice cold water pretty invigorating, though. It’s perfect when I Need a jump start.

  3. I so love my Starbucks fix :) And lord knows I can use all the energy help I can get!

  4. I’ve been wanting to try those Refreshers since I’m not a big fan of coffee. I could definitely need the boost!

  5. I have yet to try the Refreshers but they have been calling my name. I think it’s time for a taste.

  6. I havent heard of refreshers yet…I will have to give them a try. I stay awake by having a hot cup of green tea at around 12 or 1

  7. Coffee is a must. I also turn on the Wii and dance a bit. Gets my heart rate going, and I drink a protein smoothie, instant energy!

  8. I ♥ Starbucks so I’m going to have to try these. I love the coffee mug too!

  9. Starbucks keeps me moving too. I try to take little naps when I can…it doesn’t happen often!

  10. I’m not a fan at all of Starbucks. Sorry. I just find their coffee a bit too “bitter.” I used to be all over Dunkin Donuts, but lately I’ve found that too sweet. I am curious to try one of these Refreshers though. Are they any good?

Also, you’re soooo 100% correct. Keep moving. That’s how I am when exercising or even if I’m at a work-related trade show or conference. I can be on my feet for literally 6 hours, just walking and talking. I’m okay as long as I don’t take a break and sit. Once I stop and sit down, it’s over. My guard is down and I can’t move!

  11. I really want to try a refreshers! My husband loves their iced Mocha Coffee but I’m not a big iced coffee fan, something like this is perfect for me. Yum!

  12. I don’t think I could get through my day without coffee. I love Starbucks!

  13. Moving definitely helps- if I’m busy, I don’t notice how tired I am. Not as much, anyway. :)

  14. I’m a tired person as well. I need at LEAST 8 hours of sleep each night to function properly.

  15. {{ Coffee!! }} I love a good Starbucks but my newest fave coffee is Lola Savannah Texas Pecan coffee from Central Market with vanilla creamer. MMMMmmmmmm… Totally picks me up when I’m trying to keep my eyes open and entertain the kiddos. I have to limit myself since I’m nursing too. Sometimes Savannah (my 4 year old) and I will have ‘Tea Time’ with Jasmine tea and that’s good too.
