We Texans love us some football. Shocking, I know but it’s true. I’ve lived all over the country and I’ve never seen football hysteria enthusiasm quite like it is in Texas.
Sure when we lived in Colorado there was what I would consider to be a a fair amount of support for the college teams but it was really overshadowed by love for the Denver Broncos. But in Texas, it’s not just mediocre support and fair weather fans. Here it starts gaining momentum in high school, evidenced by the availability of high school team gear at the local grocery stores and just keeps on going. I have yet to meet people that aren’t supporting at least one Texas team in some capacity.
I’d hate to even venture a guess as to what’s more popular – college or professional football. There are so many teams in the state, there really is a team for everyone. Living in Austin, it’s no surprise that much of the love locally goes to the Texas Longhorns. Even though my family and I may not be natives but we have to show love for one of the Texas teams. Hook ‘em Horns!
What’s a football fan without some displays of affection for their favorite team?! There are so many ways to show love for your favorite team and our local Walmart has so many options to help feed into our Longhorns obsession. Is there anything they don’t have that’s branded for a football team?
Our family not only shows our love for the Longhorns on game day, but other times throughout the week by rocking our apparel, proudly driving with our Bevo car decal, and drinking canned beverages with logo koozies. This year we realized we have a new little Longhorn fan without anything to show her team spirit. We made a shopping trip to pick up an Infinity MascotWear Hoodie so our youngest daughter can stay warm and cozy while showing her support for the Longhorns. To view more pictures from our shopping trip, check out my Google+ Album here.
Any football fan knows that it’s not just the hoodies that will keep you warm, one of the best parts of watching the big game is the food. Even if we can’t make it to the stadium for tailgating, we love homegating (having our own party with yummy food at home). Nachos are a family favorite anytime but during a game they’re easy and filling.
What’s your favorite way to stay warm during football season?

Okay, that hoodie is SUPER cute! Though not quite as cute as its model. We are not a huge football family but if we wear any team gear, it is definitely Longhorn related!
Traci
oh my gosh that hoodie is so freakin’ cute!
Hook ‘Em Horns \m/
I’m convinced! You’ve got spirit!
Oh my! That hoodie looks too cute on her!
Super cute! I love being able to buy everything we need at Walmart.
We are not a football family but do enjoy hosting football parties for the fam. Nachos are always on the menu here! That hoodie is adorable. Around here everything is Buffalo Bills
We are HUGE Patriots fans here in our house (sorry) and we ALWAYS make nachos when the game is on. It’s just not a game without the nachos LOL.
I grew up outside of Chicago, which is a BIG sports city, but I never saw such obsession with it until we moved to Wisconsin. I swear the town would shut down when there was a Packers game on TV. It sounds like Texas is the same way!
Great hoodie! Love the team spirit! Best way to stay warm? Bundle up with a comfy hoodie or blanket of course!
I stay warm with some great stews and chilis, and some cuddly sweaters too! Look how cute that hoodie is on your adorable bunchkin!
Love the hoodie!! My son wants a FSU hoodie!
that is the cutest hoodie!
That is adorable! Our local team is the Orangemen, which is not nearly cute enough for something like this.
